Vinod Zinta is Himachal Pradesh Yuva Congress general secretary and a former National Secretary of NSUI

Elections are soon to hit the state and Vinod Zinta, state secretary HPYC believes that people will take into consideration the development done by Congress to vote the party back to power.

We, team- We Are Himachali, has started a new section of interviews about upcoming elections in the state and this is first of the series. Here today, we interact with Mr Vinod Zinta who is the state secretary of Himachal Pradesh Yuva Congress.

Mr Zinta said that Himachal will vote Congress into power and Mr. Singh will be sworn in as CM of Himachal Pradesh for a record 7th time. Here is the full interview.

Elections are nearby, HPYC is toiling hard for it. You have done numerous amount of rallies and public meetings. What is the major agenda of INC for this election?

Major agenda is Development. Congress has done a lot of development works throughout the state under the leadership of Virbhadra Singh ji. Second agenda is to make people aware of hundred of lies and fake promises by Modi gov

In latest state elections, BJP has swept all other parties. Be it be UP or UK, INC only major victory was Punjab. Do you think that INC will be able to hold on to HP as HP has been fluctuating leadership ever since early 90s.

Definitely, we are going to repeat in this upcoming elections. No doubt in the state we had fluctuating leadership but this time Congress will come to power again creating history under Raja Sahab leadership.

If given a chance to run for an assembly seat, what would be your major agenda for people of your area?

If I get a chance to contest assembly elections my agenda will be to make my assembly a model assembly by providing best health facilities in every panchayat, covering all roads by crash barriers as road accidents are a big problem and many innocent people lose their lives in that, to provide employment in every family, women empowerment through self-help groups, to promote tourism industry in my constituency so that chopal become a tourist destination.

Talking about the student politics, you have been a student representative at the national level. Do you think student politics is necessary for colleges now as the majority of them are involved in disputes and violence?

Very interesting question. I would say I am in support of student politics and elections in colleges and universities as they provide a platform for youth to become great leaders of the nation. But having said that I also think elections should be governed and regulated very properly and should not be harmful to the studies and the environment of colleges and universities.

Amid all the allegations on CM Sh. Virbhadra Singh and his family and some recent infamous scenarios like that of Waknaghat Baba and the officer caught red-handed taking the bribe and his alleged link to CM office, do you think this will have the ill effect on elections for INC and CM?

Virbhadra Singh Ji is the only leader in the state on whom people trust and behind all these allegations and misdoings in state BJP has hands. Like always this time as well CM Sahab and his govt will come clean and will form govt in coming elections and Virbhadra Singh Ji will be serving the state for the 7th time.

Last and most important question. Why should one vote for INC and not any other political party in the upcoming election?

Congress has a golden history to make India where it stands today in the globe. Right from getting independence from Britishers to this day all major achievements have been done during Congress tenure whether it is the agricultural revolution, IT revolution, educational revolution, opening Indian markets to foreigners(Liberalisation, Privatisation and Globalisation), nuclear revolution, RTI, MNREGA, Right to food and many other achievements. BJP with their false and fraud agendas made people of this country fool but now people have started realising their mistakes in trusting BJP as none of their promises
