The TapeRecorder : An introduction

The TapeRecorder was born when two youth decided to not ponder on what if but to pursue their dreams.

Two music enthusiasts, bound by years of friendship, came together to form a band in 2016. These extremely talented and high-on-energy members never miss a chance to crack a joke or two in the middle of their performances while the music played by them speaks highly of their
discipline and dedication. The Taperecorder is an Indie sufi/folk rock band hailing from the lands of Gods, Himachal Pradesh India. The major center of our attraction is Alternative Rock band covers and some good Indie, Bollywood and Coke Studio numbers and focuses essentially on their original compositions. The TapeRecorder is completely an energetic entertainment package on stage. It is complete fun to watch them perform live. The band has been traveling all across the country to perform at various destinations.

Shubham Surya: A young emerging singer from India. His music inspires people through tales of struggle, love and all that lies in between. He has been awarded as a winner of Voice of Himalayas in 2012 & has also been awarded a young talent achiever by the Himachal Pradesh government. Shubham is a full package who never fails to entertain the crowd with his sense of humour. He is a classically trained singer who fell in love with music in his childhood.

Avinash Negi: He is the backbone of the band. A drummer by profession Avinash was fond of music since his childhood & has been into a variety of instruments including drums, tabla, keys, and other percussions. It is a pleasure to watch this self-taught musician toggle between instruments on Stage.

These local lads from Chamba and Kinnaur respectively are all set to release few of their own compositions and covers of other hit songs. Over a phone call, Shubham told us that he did not wish to live a what if life and that’s why he quit his job to pursue his passion of music.

“We will be releasing ‘Maan Ki Lagan’ cover in the first week of May on our YouTube Channel and after that two other cover songs, one English and other in Pahadi will hit the internet soon, the Pahadi one will be very special” shared Shubham.
