After success of Shimla Tha Ghar and Suna Pada, Deepak Rathore is ready to drop a new album

Deepak Rathore is a young singer-songwriter from India. He strives to write music that can inspire people, through tales of struggle, love, and all that lies in between.

He was recently listed as the Top 50 most prominent bands in the country by Sennheiser.

Awarded as a youth icon by Himachal Pradesh University.The Last two single released crossed a million mark on Youtube. The Complete album is on the way now. So here we have for you all, the man you all love – Deepak Rathore

Firstly a brief introduction to the band how the things start up and achievements till now.

Well, it started from some school singing sessions. I always use to be a part of every singing event that used to take place in school. Major things came into action when I started my engineering in Chandigarh. Initially I formed a band and we use to jam daily.This time I came up with my first original song called Tu Jo Nahi Hai Yaha.This helped me in getting some good audience and from here the journey got the pace.

Shimla Tha Ghar was a hit & then Suna Pada both were shoot in Himachal what in Himachal attracts you?

No one can explain this in words. But once you get connected to the mountains it will be never ending.

Shimla is like a second home to me.I have spent a major time in Shimla writing and composing my songs. So my album will always have a touch and essence of Himachal.

I love being in Himachal and it plays a major part in my music making process and in my overall life.Upcoming projects – album and song.

The upcoming album is called ‘Kagaz Ki Naav’. It Consist of 8 original songs.The major sound of the album is folk rock and Hindi rock.Will add some unplugged too.I also did a remake of one Of my old song called ‘Ja Tujhko’. So it will be a completely fresh and new sound. I am planning to release couple of videos before album release.

Rarely does an artist get so much love in Himachal. How do you feel about it?

Nothing can be compared with what Himachal has given me so far.It a very special bond with people of Himachal the audience and the with my friends here.No doubt ‘Shimla the Ghar’ helped me a lot in reaching more and more audience and now I goanna make this connection more strong with the upcoming songs.

From being top 50 bands in India. Whats next now ?

I am working hard on my album as of now the major focus is give the best sound and song to the audience with which they can connect. Band plays a major role on stage and in studio so I am  giving more time in jam sessions and building a strong team.

What is your special recipe which gets you connected with your audience? 

Haha..I think audience can tell this much better. All I try is to keep my music simple and connecting. It should connect with the people of all ages.People can relate with their life states and should feel fresh with all the lyrics and compositions  I do.

Where is Deepak Rathore Project 5years from now?

I keep it simple. I should have come up with 2-3 albums. Will love to contribute some good music in Bollywood. And may I learn each and every day in the coming 5 years.

If not singer, what would the lead of DRP would be?

I would have joined Indian Army.Defence services always fascinate me.A life full of principles and diciplin and servicing your nation what can be better than that.Cricket was also a major part till school days.I use to be decent enough with both bat and ball.But in both the cases music would have been there.So I feel good that I am contributing in the form of music to my country. 

How modern Himachal film/music industry could be revolutionized?

Folk is never ending. It a kind of music which will have the same connection and impact generation after generation.Everyone should try to contribute something.And this will help expanding the Himachali folk music and culture all over the world.
